Last night at the Telegraph Club is a Nominee for Readers’ Favorite Young Adult Fiction in 2021, a forbidden story of love and duty set in the heart of Chinatown, San Francisco, during the Red Scare. 1954 America is not a safe place for two girls to fall in love, with the fear of deportation hovering over Lily’s father, Lily and Kath risk everything to let their love see the light of day.
A Scatter of Light is an accompanying standalone to Last night at the Telegraph Club, which offers us a glimpse into Lily and Kath’s lives almost sixty years later. Malinda Lo returns to San Francisco, Bay Area. Aria Tang West was looking forward to spending her summer on Martha’s Vineyard, however fresh out of college, her graduation party takes a turn for the worst, her parents exile her to California to stay with her grandmother. Aria dreads that her summer is now ruined, but little does she know this is the kind of summer that changes everything for her.
We are huge fans of these queer coming-of-age stories and so happy to be bringing you this stunning set! Both books are Royal hardback with foil on the covers and all exclusive: foil embossing on the hardback, artwork endpapers by @adamscarvalho, ombre sprayed edges and signed by the author.

What is Illumicrate?
Illumicrate started life as a quarterly subscription box, and we're proud that we were the first UK book subscription box! We launched in the summer of 2015, and our very first box was November 2015. We now offer two options for the Illumicrate monthly subscriptions: a full box subscription and a book only subscription, which features the books included in our monthly boxes.
In 2021 we launched Afterlight, a quarterly romance subscription box that is now monthly. Evernight, a quarterly horror subscription box, was launched in July 2023. Our new science fiction book only subscription Starbright will launch in February 2025.
We also offer special editions of books and book sets, with a range of customisations exclusive to Illumicrate. We have also held virtual signings and in 2019 we launched our Debut Boxes, showcasing new debut authors. Our Collections, Archives and Mini-boxes focus on a particular author or fandom.

How do I change my address for an order I’ve paid for?
Please fill out our Customer Support form and we can do that for you! If you change your address in your account, this will not carry over to any orders you have paid for, only future orders.
Once your box has shipped we cannot change your address and you may be charged additional shipping to have it sent to your correct address.

I've changed my mind, can I have a refund?
If you have ordered a subscription product (a box or book) and this is not yet in pre-shipment (we have not yet sent out the emails check your address), then we can usually cancel and refund this for you. We do not issue refunds if you have a 3 or 6 month pre-paid subscription.
If you have ordered a single purchase item or something from our shop, as long as your order hasn't yet gone into pre-shipment we can usually refund it for you. To cancel your order, please fill in our Customer Support Form or contact us directly at support@illumicrate.com.
